Changey Falls is just 3 km jeep drive plus 1.5 km walk down over 250 well built stairs.

Charkhole, 32 km away, Lolegaon about 30 kms also has interesting views of the snow-capped peaks. Summer temperatures vary from 5-200C, winter temperatures are around 0-80C.

Our homestay at Kolakham is one of the most popular place of stay and have a full operational restaurants coming for sightseeing of Kolakham and Changey Falls. Easily identifiable, entrance located on the main road the other side with balconies provide excellent view of the Kanchenjunga and the other peaks. It is a wooden two-storied building built along the slope. 

The entrance to the main levels of our Kolakham homestays is just on the main motorable road. The first level has 7 rooms with an open dining space which overlooks a balcony. The second level has 9 rooms with a common large balcony as well. It is a modern contemporary building with all modern amenities like attached western type toilets, 24 hour running water, Geysers and room heaters. It can be called a modern hotel in the sense of the word minus the bell boys and waiters, but our homely atmosphere and staying with a local family, experiencing their culture and food will be an additional bonus.

To reach Kolakham you need to reach the nearest town of Lava, from where you need to reserve a vehicle to reach Kolakham. Lava can be reached directly from Siliguri by reserved or shared car or buses which ply from PC Mittal Bus terminus. From Gangtok, Pelling or Darjeeling you need to reach Kalimpong jeep stand and then take shared car or bus to Lava or reserve a private car to reach our homestay in Kolakham.

Trekking In Neora National Park

The best and most popular activity staying at hotels in Kolakham is a trek to the base of the waterfalls. It takes about 30 minutes downhill trek to reach the base and about 45-60 minutes to return from the resort. You can take a trek in the wilderness all around the resort to spot different birds and plants species of the Neora Valley Nation Park. The peaks of Kanchenjunga rise majestically in the morning mist.  A Canopy Walk is located around a kilometre from the bus stand at Loleygaon, in the middle of the forest full of fir, oak, birch and cypress are inter-connected foot bridges.
