DAY 1 : New Jalpaiguri Railway Station(NJP)/Bagdogra Airport(IXB) – Gangtok (130 km/5 hrs drive)
Arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP)/Bagdogra Airport (IXB) where car will receive you and transfer you to the capital of Sikkim, Gangtok. Rhododendrons will be your travel buddy on your way to the final destination. On your journey you will travel through Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary for about 20 kms, then beautiful Teesta will accompany you most of the way making your journey one of the most mesmerizing one. After reaching Gangtok Check in at hotel. Afterwards if you arrive early you may be interested to explore 2-3 view points by car. Evening its time for you to relax and if you feel like, go for a walk at the mall road(MG Road) marketplace buying woolen garments, souvenirs and experience Gangtok's modified local cuisine or street food.
DAY 2 : Gangtok to Tsomgo Lake Excursion/ Baba Mandir/ Natula Pass(Optional)
After breakfast proceed to Tsomgo Lake located at a distance of 40 km from the city. The journey to this destination will be full of alpine trees and worth undertaking for its picturesque beauty. Situated at an elevation of 12300 feet, it is a lake considered pious by both Hindus and Buddhists. In winter months it remains frozen, and you can enjoy walking on the lake or even ice skating.
Baba Mandir lies further about 17kms, a holy site for the locals and the tourists. Also known as Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple the place holds extreme importance for it is a memorial of a soldier, Baba Harbhajan Singh, who died during Indo China War. His spirit is believed to be still guarding the lives of the soldiers till date.
Nathu La Pass (Optional if permits are available)
This pass connects India with China. This pass was part of the ancient Silk Route. You can take this tour on the same day for some extra charges if special permit to enter this area is available on your day of visit.
DAY 3 : Gangtok – Lachen (About 125 Kms / 7-8 Hrs)
After breakfast start for Lachen. We will arrange for your permits which are issued only on the day of travel. It starts around 9 am and reach Chungthang where you will be able to take your lunch at about 2,30 pm. Resume your journey to Lachen which takes another 2-3 hours. Lachen is a town hidden from the outer world, a small sleepy town inhabited by Lepcha community and gateway to Gurudongmar Lake, Thangu, Chopta Valley, Cafe 15000. Check in to your hotel, have some evening tea and take a stroll across the town.
DAY 4 : Lachen – Gurudongmar Lake – Lachung
After breakfast and head towards the Gurudongmar Lake, i.e. 55 kms from Lachen. It will take around 3 hours for you to reach. Gurudongmar Lake
one of the world’s highest lake, owes its name to the founder of Tibetan Buddhism, Guru Padmasambhava who is also known as Guru Rinpoche. There are claims that the lake has been blessed by the Sikhs spiritual leader, Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the 15th century. Considered sacred by Hindus, Sikhs and the Buddhists, it is located at the height of 17800 ft. After soaking in the delightful sights of the lake you return to your resort/hotel, en-route see Thangu Valley and Bhim nala water falls. Chopta Valley is optional tour. After Lunch travel to Lachung where you can visit the Lachung Monastery. Overnight at Lachung.
DAY 5 : Lachung – Yumthang Excursion – Gangtok
After breakfast, drive to Yumthang which is at an altitude of 11800 feet. Yumthang is a splendid valley set near to the Lachung Chu River, surrounded by mountains. During spring, the valley erupts with Rhododendrons, many alpine flowers and Primulas. Other wise the valley finds is covered in snow. On the place, you come across a famous hot spring. Spending a great time witnessing this magical beauty and head back to your hotel for lunch. After lunch, leave for Gangtok. It will be 6-7 hours drive. On your way if the sky is clear and the weather is contusive, spend some time consuming the magnificent views of Mount Kanchenjunga, Mount Jopuno, Mount Kabru, check in at hotel. There is an optional tour to Zero Point if permits and road conditions allow.
Day 6: Gangtok to Pelling Via Melli Ceckpost(Optional Ravangla & Namchi)
After Breakfast you start your journey for Pelling via Melli which will be about 4 hours journey. Alternatively you can take the Temi tea garden, Ravangla, Sandruptse and Namchi route which covers most of the South Sikkim attractions but this takes more than 7 to 8 hours to cover. Checkin at hotel in Pelling. Overnight at Pelling.
Day 7: Pelling Sightseeing covering Rabdentsey Ruins, Pemeyangtse Monaestry, Kunchenjunga Waterfalls, Kechipoltri Lake, Rimbi Waterfalls and Pelling Skywalk. After sightseeing return to hotel/resort. Additional optional tour include Singshore Bridge, Yuksom & Tashiding Monaestry.
DAY 8 : Pelling – New Jalpaiguri Railway Station(NJP)/Bagdogra Airport(IXB) ( 130km/5 hrs drive)
After breakfast and start for Siliguri / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (Junction) which takes not less than 5 hours. Early start is advisable to avoid any end time rush or trouble. Forwarding Journey.
