Our homestay at Aritar is located on the higher hills providing great view of the Kunchenjunga as well as the lake below.. It is a two-storied building built along the slope. The entrance to the main levels is just below the parking area. We have 8 rooms with a common large balcony as well. It is a modern contemporary building with all modern amenities like attached western type toilets, 24 hour running water, Geysers and room heaters. It can be called a modern hotel in the sense of the word minus the bell boys and waiters, but our homely atmosphere and staying with a local family, experiencing their culture and food will be an additional bonus. It is undoubtedly one on the best homestay in Silk Route. Our Aritar homestay accommodation is located at an altitude of 8000 ft. Since other places on the SIlk route, like Zuluk, Gnathang, Kupup, etc. are located at higher altitudes (12,000 ft and above) where it is difficult to get amenities like geyser, etc, and there is likely to be water problems, Aritar is a better base for tourists since these amenities are available here. Since Rongli town has the closest medical facilities, it is also safer to stay at Aritar, especially for senior tourists.

Aritar in Rongli Sub-Division is in the Pakyong District of Sikkim. It is famous for its natural and landscaped beauty, Lake and maejestic view of Mt Kunchenjunga, Aritar is 4 hours drive from Gangtok via Pakyong or from Siliguri/New Jalpaiguri via Rangpo. The region is characterized by lush forest, mountains and rivers. It is an isolated village area with lot of tourist interests and is about 4 kms away from the main Silk Route. Yet people prefer to stay overnight and many Aritar homestays offering quality services and experience has been promoted by the locals.
