Explore Orange Orchards

Sittong is popularly known as the “Orange Village of Darjeeling,” with many vibrant orchards where visitors can wander among orange trees, especially beautiful in the winter months (November to January). You can even purchase fresh oranges directly from local farmers.

Sittong Monastery (Gumba Dara)

Perched on a hilltop, this small monastery is not only a place for spiritual reflection but also offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. It's a peaceful spot to observe Buddhist rituals and experience the local culture.

 Birdwatching and Nature Walks

Trek to Namthing Lake

A small seasonal lake located a short trek from Sittong, Namthing Lake is particularly interesting in monsoon when it’s filled with water. The lake is also home to the rare Himalayan salamander, an endangered species found in this region.

Dilaram Tea Estate

Located close to Sittong, Dilaram Tea Estate offers a chance to learn about tea processing while enjoying sprawling views of tea gardens. You can also buy locally produced tea here, directly from the plantation.
